(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 64-year-old man has been hospitalized after he was attacked along the Monon Trail, police said.
Ebone Monet of RTV6 reports, officers were called to the 2100 block of the trail just after noon Sunday on a report of a person assaulted.
Jim Knapp said he was riding his bike when he was attacked.
Knapp told police he didn't remember the attack. He was only carrying his cell phone and $3.
Elaine Delbecq, Knapp's wife, said her husband has broken ribs, a broken clavicle, concussions and cuts that required stitches.
A security officer at a nearby church said he heard a loud noise and saw three teenage boys on bikes riding quickly away from the Monon.
That security officer was also the one who called Knapp's family to alert them to what happened.
Delbecq said Knapp has been using the Monon Trail almost every day for the past 10 years, and this is the first time he's had any problem.
