90 Union Hospital Patients Received Tainted Injection

Last updated on Saturday, October 6, 2012

(TERRE HAUTE) - The Indiana Department of Health has issued a mandatory recall of tainted shots with fungal meningitis.

Brittany Earl, of WTHI reports, Union Hospital in Terre Haute reportedly administered Depo Medrol (methylprednisolone acetate) to 90 patients.

Union has reported no one locally has tested positive with the rare fungus.

The drug was pulled immediately from Union's pharmacy, and has since been pulled from pharmacies across the US.

Hospital officials say only those 90 patients who received the shots via a spinal epidural injection any time from July 15 through September 26 of this year could have been infected.
