(GREENWOOD) - Coyotes have been running loose and attacking pet dogs in Greenwood.
The Daily Journal report dozens of pets have recently been reported dead or missing from fenced-in yards. However, Johnson County Animal Control and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources cannot take care of the coyotes.
Some neighbors say, one coyote attack happened inside a fenced in yard.
Officials say they want to step in and put a stop to the attacks on pets in fear of increasing attacks.
Officials are looking to hire trappers and are forbidding residents from leaving out food for stray animals.
Coyotes have been spotted roaming wide areas and auto parts yards.
Residents are being asked to keep an eye on their pets, especially at night.
