(TERRE HAUTE) - The Indiana State Excise Police arrested 58 people, including 38 minors, near the Indiana State University Campus over the weekend.
Thirty-eight minors were arrested for illegal consumption and fifteen adults were arrested for providing alcohol to a minor.
WISH TV8 reports, a group of six ISU students were caught running in front of cars near Third and Chestnut Street, causing traffic delays. Officers arrested the students for illegal consumption.
Furthermore, a 17-year-old girl was also arrested on campus during a traffic stop for illegal consumption.
Five people were arrested after a party was busted in the 600 block of S. Fifth Street. One underage teen was arrested after he continuously misinformed officer about who he was.
Indiana State Excise Police officers were working in Terre Haute this weekend as part of the Intensified College Enforcement, or ICE, initiative. The new program aims to reduce underage access to and use of alcohol at six college campuses: Ball State, Butler, Indiana, Indiana State, Notre Dame and Purdue.
