(NEW YORK) - A fire swept through a Queens neighborhood, destroying at least 50 flooded homes in the New York City borough.
A fire department spokesman said more than 190 firefighters battled the blaze in the Breezy Point section, and two people suffered minor injuries.
Officials said the blaze was reported around 11 p.m. Monday in an area flooded by superstorm Sandy.
The neighborhood sits on the Rockaway peninsula jutting into the Atlantic Ocean.
