Last updated on Monday, October 8, 2012

(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning in effect from 2 am to 9 am Monday for a large portion of Indiana.

A cold Canadian high pressure will expand into the Ohio Valley Sunday night. The combination of clear skies and light to calm winds with temperatures falling into the lower 30s will result in widespread frost developing across Central Indiana early Monday morning.

Sensitive outdoor plants and tender vegetation may sustain damage or be killed if left unprotected.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely.

Counties included in this warning include, Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson, and Jennings.
