(INDIANAPOLIS) - A late night weekend game of dominoes ended with one player hurt and the other in handcuffs, after an argument over who won escalated out of control.
According to police reports, officers were called to an apartment in the 4100 block of Stonecrest Court around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, where they found a 50-year-old man bleeding heavily from his hand. According to the man, he and his girlfriend, 49-year-old Rita Chaney, had been playing dominoes when an argument erupted over how to score the game and who had won.
WISH TV8 reports, the man told officers he went to lie down on the couch, hoping to let the incident pass when Chaney told him to leave. When he did not, he said Chaney hit him on the left side of his head with a fan, then went to the kitchen to get a steak knife. Officers said Chaney pointed the knife at the man's face and again told him to leave.
When he refused, Chaney then allegedly stabbed him in the hand, causing cuts between his thumb and forefinger.
Officers said Chaney was uncooperative with their investigation, but told them, "I was just trying to make him leave." She was arrested on three preliminary felony charges of battery and criminal recklessness.
The man was treated for his wounds at the scene.
