(UNDATE) - Open enrollment for Medicare health and prescription drug plans began Monday.
Indiana's State Health Insurance Program, also known as SHIP, has different plans you can choose from.
People can get help with their plan in person, by phone, or online.
We spoke with Indiana's 8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon who stressed the importance of knowing your options under the Affordable Care Act.
Bucshon says, "Under the Affordable Care Act, the Medicare Advantage Plans specifically will be changing dramatically and many of the plans may not be available in the future based on the Affordable Care Act."
"No matter whether the Affordable Care Act is in place or not, Washington D.C. is going to make sure that we keep the Medicare doughnut hole closed so that seniors don't have to pay extra money for the prescription drugs," Bucshon added.
You can enroll in person, by phone, or on the internet.
The SHIP statewide number is 800-452-4800.
