(RICHMOND) - Authorities say a woman was killed and two other people hurt when they were hit by a train near a group of nightclubs in an eastern Indiana city.
Richmond police Capt. Bill Shake says investigators didn't immediately know how the three pedestrians came to be hit about 1:15 a.m. Friday on the tracks near the city's depot district.
The Palladium-Item reports the two women and one man were all believed to be Earlham College students. Thursday had been designated College Night in the depot district and the college had provided shuttle transportation to the area near the city's downtown that's about two miles from campus.
Information on the conditions of those injured wasn't immediately released.
