(FRANKLIN) - An Indianapolis man was arrested Thursday after police said he was transporting a large quantity of marijuana from Indianapolis to Cincinnati for sale.
Thursday afternoon, an Indiana State Police trooper stopped a Chevrolet Impala near the 164-mile marker of Interstate 74 in Dearborn County, on the eastern edge of the state, for speeding. After a police dog indicated the presence of drugs, officers found about 50 pounds of marijuana, worth about $50,000, in the car.
The driver, Ashley Love, 32, Indianapolis, was arrested and taken to Dearborn County Jail on a preliminary charge of dealing in marijuana - over 10 pounds, a Class C felony.
