(GREENWOOD) - Greenwood police believe the recent increase of free-roaming coyotes is due to residents leaving out food out for the animals to eat.
Greenwood is currently considering a ban on feeding wild animals, but is questioning how the city would enforce it, The Daily Journal reports.
Members of the Greenwood City Council have considered trapping and relocating the animals, but it is likely they would return, as they roam over 50-mile-wide areas.
While plans have no yet been determined, the city would like to educate residents on how to keep their children and pets safe at city meetings.
