Skillman And Ellspermann Keynote Speakers At Rural Summit

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Rural Roundtable is proud to welcome both Lt. Governor Becky Skillman and Lt. Governor-Elect Sue Ellspermann as keynote speakers during the 2012 Indiana Rural Summit November 14th and 15th.

Lt. Governor Skillman is finishing her eighth and final year as the state's second in command. Lt. Governor-Elect Ellspermann will take the post in Jan. 2013.

"Rural development is close to my heart and I have been proud to lead such programs as the Women in Business Seminars, Stellar Communities and the Indiana Main Street under our administration," said Lt. Governor Becky Skillman. "And I am proud to pass the torch of Indiana's rural development leadership onto Sue Ellspermann."

The theme of the 2012 Indiana Rural Summit is Advancing Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Communities and brings together innovative speakers, new research and inventive programs by public leaders to offer fresh Ideas for rural communities.

This two-day event takes place on November 14 and 15, 2012 at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel in Indianapolis. The cost is $150 for the full Summit or $75 for one day. Lunch is provided. Seating is limited and online registration is available on the Office of Community and Rural Affairs website (http://www.in.gov/ocra/ruralsummit.htm).

"It is my privilege to build on Lt. Governor Skillman's vision and to continue positive change in our rural communities," said Lt. Governor-Elect Ellspermann. "Rural Indiana is an important player in the state's economic growth as Indiana continues to be a leader in the Midwest."
