(INDIANAPOLIS) - A valet at a downtown hotel is accused of taking Reggie Wayne’s Bentley on a drunken joyride.
RTV6 reports that the Colts wide receiver told police he left his 2007 white Bentley with the valet at the Westin Hotel on Saturday night, but when he went to retrieve it Sunday morning, the car wasn't there.
A security officer at the parking garage said he saw a man in a valet uniform leave with the vehicle just before midnight.
A check of police reports found that Gunner Belcher, 21, a valet at the hotel, had been pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving near 300 S. Meridian St. just after 2 a.m. while driving a Bentley.
According to a police report, Belcher was stopped in the street, blocking traffic, and smelled of alcohol, with glassy eyes and slurred speech.
His blood-alcohol level registered at 0.13 percent, police said.
Belcher told police that the car belonged to Wayne, but he said he was Wayne's cousin by marriage.
Belcher was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to carry registration and failure to wear his seat belt.
The Bentley, which was towed after Belcher's arrest, was released to Wayne on Sunday.
