(INDIANAPOLIS) - Fire ravaged a church this morning causing extensive damage to the worship space inside.
Indianapolis Firefighters were called to Westview Christian Church on West 34th Street just after one o'clock this morning. IFD entered the church to battle the fire after finding heavy smoke pouring from the sanctuary. The fire burned through the floor joist in the alter area leaving nothing but charred remains.
The church was unoccupied and there were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $300,000 and investigators found the cause of the fire to be electrical.
