(INDIANAPOLIS) - Multiple suspects were caught after an attempted robbery Thursday evening.
RTV6 reports police were dispatched to a robbery in progress where the victim was following the suspect vehicle near Shortridge and Washington streets.
After a short pursuit, five occupants exited the suspect vehicle and four ran to a nearby apartment complex.
Police said one occupant was armed with a long gun
After being ordered to stop, the armed suspect refused and continued to run.
An officer tracked the suspect down and single-handedly took the suspect into custody after the suspect resisted the attempt, a news release said.
Another officer stayed with the other four suspects seen running into the apartment building and took custody of the individuals.
The victim told officers that he worked for Just Pizza and said he received an order for ten pizzas with suspicious delivery instructions.
When the victim exited his vehicle for delivery, he noticed five individuals sitting in a car with on wearing a mask and holding a gun, police said.
Police said the victim drew a gun he legally possessed and the suspects fled the area.
The victim followed their vehicle and called police.
Further investigation determined the suspect vehicle was stolen.
The suspects range in age from 17 to 19 years of age.
All subjects face preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, auto theft, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
