(TERRE HAUTE) - One juvenile was arrested in connection to a case involving threats to a Vigo County high school.
WTHI News 10 was able to confirm at a Vigo County School Corporation press conference that a 17-year-old was arrested for Intimidation for posing threats to Terre Haute South Vigo High School earlier in the week.
The Terre Haute Police Department (THPD) and the Vigo County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) confirmed the arrest was made and did not release the juvenile's name.
Vigo County Schools Superintendent Danny Tanoos said police are ensuring the safety of the students and staff.
Sheriff Greg Ewing says threats are not a prank and taken seriously and not something police will tolerate.
Superintendent Tanoos repeatedly referred to the alleged threats as "low-level"; however, failed to comment further on what exactly those threats were, stating the case is a "touchy subject".
