(JOHNSON COUNTY) - Wednesday evening, travel warnings remained in effect in 13 counties across central Indiana, including Johnson, Brown, Shelby, and Morgan.
WISH TV 8 reports that a travel warning means travel may be restricted to emergency personnel only. Citizens were asked to stay off the roads.
Emergency management officials told 24-Hour News 8 they were hoping to begin to clear secondary streets overnight, while cars were still off them.
For the most part, drivers that braved the winter weather said they were impressed with the work city, county, and state road workers were doing.
As the night wore on, roads were slick and icy, and plow drivers were busy.
Officials say they'll evaluate travel statuses Thursday morning.
They remind drivers as they head out Thursday to use caution even if it's not snowing.
Many roads will still be slick and snow covered, especially neighborhoods.
