(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show runs at the state Fairgrounds this week and organizers are expecting large attendance numbers.
Spokeswoman Ashley Varner says the event averages between 8 and 10-thousand visitors over a weekend and they are expecting a significantly higher turnout this weekend in light of the national conversation.
Wednesday, President Obama announced initiatives that include universal background checks for gun sales, the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban, a cap on ammunition magazines, and a ban on armor-piercing ammunition.
