(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man arrested on numerous charges including kidnapping, rape, and shooting at police officers was sentenced to 99 years in prison on Tuesday.
A judge sentenced Vincent Smith to a total of 99 years behind bars.
Back in 2011, Smith was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a woman he then dropped off at the Indianapolis International Airport.
That same year, police say he tried to kill a different woman when he stabbed her and then set fire to her home.
Smith had no attorney during his trial, instead he chose to represent himself.
The jury found him guilty on all 6 counts on December 19th.
