(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man was shot in the chest after answering the door at his home on the city’s east side early Friday, police said.
Investigators said about 2 a.m., a man heard a knock at his door at his home in the 2900 block of east 34th Street.
When he went to open the door, he was shot in the chest by an unknown gunman. The homeowner was able to call 911 and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
The victim's identity was not released.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
