(LOGANSPORT) - The Batmobile was fired up Tuesday for a ride of a lifetime.
RTV6 reports, Ally Martin, 18, is a Batman fan extraordinaire. She wears a Batman ring and a Batman hat. She is batty for Batman.
"He puts himself out there and saves people, without any special gifts, really except for his money," Martin said.
On Tuesday, Martin cruised in the Batmobile as if she didn't have a care in the world.
But Martin has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, and after three rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, doctors say it doesn't look good.
AML is an aggressive, hard to treat form of leukemia, but Martin is a spunky, hard to discourage teenager, and one of the things on her bucket list was to take a ride in the Batmobile.
Martin's friends arranged this little trip in the crime fighting coupe. The owner could not refuse.
"It's fun to get it out and show it off and have a good time with people," said Mark Racop, who owns the 1966 Batmobile. "We get to spread some joy. This world needs a lot more joy, so why not?"
Martin said the ride was awesome, and her favorite part was the staring, honking and waving from others on the road.
