(MILAN) - A 22-year-old woman and two teenagers from Ohio have been arrested in the slaying of a 68-year-old Indiana woman, police said.
Nancy Hershman, 68, was found shot to death around 1 a.m in her Milan home Dec. 30 after an apparent home-invasion robbery, police said.
Following a week-long investigation, which led state police to Colerain Township in Cincinnati, where Allison Moore, 22, and two 16-year-old boys were arrested Saturday.
Moore faces a preliminary charge of murder, while the boys are being held on juvenile charges in connection with the murder, police said.
According to an Indiana State Police press release, investigators determined this incident was a random act. Troopers said the trio were driving around and came to Indiana deciding to breaking into a home.
Once inside, they were apparently confronted by Mrs. Hershman and shot her.
Moore is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on a preliminary charge of murder.
The two juveniles are being held in a Cincinnati juvenile detention facility on charges in connection with the murder.
Information on formal charges and details on when Moore and the teens could be brought back to Ripley County will be announced during a 1:30 p.m. press conference today, at the Ripley County Courthouse Annex building.
More arrests are possible, police said.
