(DECATUR COUNTY) - A North Decatur High School senior, who was reported missing Tuesday evening by his family, was found deceased in a creek Wednesday afternoon.
Police said 19-year-old Brandon Coldwell's vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Camaro, was discovered Tuesday evening, submerged in the creek located at County Road 60 East.
According to the Decatur County Sheriff's Department, Coldwell's family reported him missing around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities said they received a call around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, reporting the car in the creek. However, they said Coldwell's body was not found inside the vehicle.
More than 50 searchers from city departments, as well as family and volunteers, participated in the search for Coldwell, whose body was discovered at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said Coldwell's body showed no signs of visible trauma. Autopsy results are expected to be ready Friday.
