(LOGANSPORT) - Police say a 7-year-old has been preliminarily charged with battery after punching a teacher in the nose.
The Franklin Elementary School Kindergarten student, with a history with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism and psychosis was suspended after the incident,The Pharos-Tribune reports.
The child had been admitted to a behavioral center for increased aggression, psychosis, ADHD and autistic disorder in January and February.
A letter provided by that behavioral center recommended the child be educated in a classroom with few peers and with one-on-one supervision.
The child's mother says she requested one-on-one instruction for her child, but was denied.
She also said the teacher provoked her son which is why he punched her.
A prosecuting attorney will determine if charges will be filed.
