(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis woman was drunk when she backed over her fiance, killing him, police said.
The incident happened just after 2 a.m. outside a bar near Emerson Avenue and County Line Road on Indianapolis' south side.
Donna Miner, 50, told police she thought her fiance had gone back inside the bar when she backed up, hitting him with her Jeep.
"I backed up to pick him up, and he ran out behind my vehicle," Miner told police, according to the report.
Miner was crouched over the man's body when paramedics arrived. The man died on the way to a nearby hospital.
Police said Miner had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. She was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death.
