(EVANSVILLE) - A former top leader with the Boy Scouts in southwestern Indiana will plead guilty to child pornography charges.
Documents filed in federal court indicate 33-year-old Ryan Bieler of Ireland will plead guilty to one count of possessing child pornography and four counts of receiving it.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Shellenbarger tells the Evansville Courier & Press a plea agreement calls for Bieler to receive a sentence of about eight to 10 years.
Bieler was a senior district executive for the Evansville-based Buffalo Trace Council of the Boy Scouts before being charged last November.
A message seeking comment was left with his attorney Tuesday.
Authorities have said a search of Bieler's Dubois County home last year turned up DVDs and CDs of child pornography.
