(TERRE HAUTE)- A former Brazil, Ind. police chief was sentenced to probation and community service Thursday on allegations dating back to 2008.
WTHI reports, Terry Harrison was first arrested in 2011, on allegations that he cashed a $2,000 grant check but didn't deposit it. He was initially charged with failure to deposit the check and official misconduct.
In January, Harrison pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of Official Misconduct as part of a plea agreement.
On Thursday, a Vigo County judge sentenced Harrison to one year of probation and 200 hours of community service.
