(INDIANAPOLIS) - A house that caught fire early Sunday morning, caught fire again Sunday afternoon, officials confirm.
TheIndyChannel.com staff reports that the Indianapolis Fire Department was originally dispatched to a vacant residence in the 4900 block of East New York Street and North Dequincy Street and just before 2 a.m., IFD said.
IFD had the fire under control within 30 minutes and no injuries were reported on the scene.
Officials said the fire was under investigation by IFD and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Battalion Chief Kevin Witt estimated damages to be $40,000 after the first fire. This number was updated to $65,000 after the second fire.
IFD was dispatched to the same residence just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
"An aggressive interior attack coupled with aerial ladders putting water on the fire allowed crews to get a handle on the fire in about 30 minutes," an IFD media release said.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries but were not transported for those injuries, IFD said.
The fire is and was under investigation.
