(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man who was found dead at an apartment on Indianapolis’ southwest side Wednesday afternoon was likely either shot or stabbed and was involved in a “fierce struggle” before his death, police said.
TheIndyChannel.com staff reports that Indianapolis police were called to the Lynhurst Park Apartments near South Lynhurst Drive and West Troy Avenue about 1:45 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the body of David McMiller, 28, inside his apartment, said IMPD spokesman Kendale Adams.
"Investigators believe the victim may have been shot or stabbed, but will await the results of a planned autopsy," Adams said.
Police said they believe three small children were in the apartment during an altercation that involved McMiller and one or more people.
The children were not injured and were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, Adams said.
Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or text "INDYCS" and tip info to 274627.
