(INDIANAPOLIS) - More than 122 pounds of Khat, an illegal, amphetamine-like stimulant, was seized at the Indianapolis FedEx facility Friday.
Customs and Border Protection officers found the drugs hidden in computer parts during a routine inspection of the international air freight arriving from Great Britain, according to a release.
The shipment, which weighed 122.83 pounds, was heading to Wisconsin.
Khat is similar to tobacco and is chewed for a stimulant effect, causing a state of euphoria and elation. It also causes an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, according to a release.
No arrests have been made at this time.
