(MONROEVILLE) - One person was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a near drowning in Monroeville Saturday, according to police dispatchers.
WANE TV reports that emergency responders were called to 209 Water Street Saturday afternoon. According to an official at the scene, Russel Johnston of Monroeville was found face down in a small pond off Utility Drive.
The landowner called 911. A firefighter pulled Johnston out of the water. Medics performed CPR on Johnston at the scene and an ambulance took him to a hospital in critical condition.
It's not clear yet how or why Johnston was in the pond. No other details have been released. This story will be updated when more information is available.
