(CLAY COUNTY) - One person had died from an accident on Interstate 70 that closed the westbound lanes Thursday night for several hours.
Officials say a tree fell onto I-70, the driver hit the tree, causing the accident. The accident involved three semi trucks. Two of the semi drivers had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
It happened just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the 24 mile marker, near the Brazil exit.
Emergency responders closed the westbound lanes at the 41 mile marker and rerouted traffic to U.S 40.
