(GREENWOOD) - Police who were called to a Greenwood golf course early Saturday morning were met with chaos - hearing from witnesses that two, possibly three, gunmen fired shots in a parking lot, leaving one woman injured.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of South Morgantown Road at the Walnut Ridge golf course around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call about a lock out and a crowd that needed help.
As police were responding, one officer noticed a large amount of cars traveling away from the area in a hurry, according to a release.
Cars were moving so fast, one officer was almost struck.
The officer who arrived to the golf course says there were still 30 - 40 cars in the parking lot and other responding units.
Police learned there were shots fired and that medics were needed for a gunshot victim.
A search for weapons at the party began, but nothing was uncovered.
The victim was treated by medics for a superficial wound to the side of her head. Medics were unsure if it was a bullet graze or an injury from shattered glass from a car she was sitting in.
The woman told police she heard three shots, but did not know where they came from.
Police also spoke to the driver of the vehicle the woman was sitting in, who told police she saw two gunmen - one of which she thought was on top of a car while shooting.
Other witnesses say there may have been a third gunman shooting in the parking lot.
Police say the group of people were uncooperative. The manager of the club house did say he rented the space for party.
No suspects have been named.
