(STATEHOUSE) - A possible new law that would further restrict how much cold medicine you can buy passed the Indiana Statehouse Monday.
If signed by Governor Pence, the law would limit the amount of medicine with ephedrine or pseudoephedrine you can buy in a year without a prescription.
Right now, you can get about 7 grams per month. The new law would limit that to about 5 grams.
The law would also require stores that sell single doses to use the same tracking system pharmacies use.
Ephedrine and pseudoephedrine are key ingredients in methamphetamine.
