(UNDATED) - Purdue University President Mitch Daniels says he’s disappointed when he hears minority students say they feel unwelcome or unsafe on campus.
His comments come after more than 200 students, faculty and community members marched Monday, asking the administration to do more to fight racism.
Daniels says the university has zero-tolerance for those who act from hatred. He says he has called many minority students who have been admitted to Purdue, but haven't accepted the offer, trying to convince them to enroll.
Daniels says there are similar efforts trying to attract more women and minority faculty members to campus.
