(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Indiana State Excise Police officers issued 53 tickets during Purdue University’s Grand Prix.
Much of those tickets issued at this weekend's events were alcohol-related, police say. One man was taken to jail Friday night after he attempted to flee from officers.
Adam Fulk, 19, was seen trying to buy alcohol with a false ID at a Wal-Mart. When approached by excise officers he attempted to flee, pushing one officer out of the way. He then fought with officers before being taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
He has been preliminarily charged with battery on law enforcement, resisting law enforcement, illegal possession of alcohol and possession of a false ID.
One officer suffered minor injuries during the incident.
