(FORT WAYNE) - Fort Wayne police held a Gun Amnesty Day Saturday.
Area residents were encouraged to turn in guns to police stationed at the Fort Wayne Urban League.
The "Journal Gazette" reports 26 guns were collected.
Police will check to see if any of the guns were used in crimes. Any guns with no association to criminal activity will be destroyed.
