(BRAZIL) - Authorities say a western Indiana man was arrested after he struggled with a state trooper who pulled him over and then fled again.
A jail officer at the Clay County lockup said Saturday that 39-year-old Christopher Lewis of Brazil had been released. No phone number could be found for Lewis and authorities didn't know if he has a lawyer.
Police say Trooper Jonathan Cumbie was patrolling Interstate 70 when he saw an SUV drive off the edge of the road and overcorrect. After the stop, the men struggled briefly when Cumbie when he tried to arrest him after smelling marijuana.
Police say Lewis ran into nearby woods, then returned to the SUV and fled. He surrendered after a brief chase.
Lewis was arrested on resisting arrest and other charges.
