(HOPE) - More than 1,000 residents in Hope were without power for nearly five hours Tuesday night thanks to one curious raccoon.
The outage happened shortly before 11 p.m. and left an estimated 1,116 people without power, The Republic reports.
A representative for Bartholomew County REMC says a raccoon got into a place it wasn't supposed to be inside of a Duke Energy substation.
