(LEROY) - A northwest Indiana teenager died after going airborne while riding a dirt bike and landing on a fence post.
The Times of Munster reports 16-year-old Matthew Soper of Crown Point died of severe internal injuries at Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital Saturday night. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says Soper and three other juveniles were riding about 6:45 p.m. Saturday when the accident occurred. Soper was the only one injured.
Officials said Soper was not familiar with the property where he was riding. Authorities are investigating.
