(JACKSON COUNTY) - A 61-year-old woman drowned in southern Indiana on Friday.
The Jackson County Sheriff said the woman lost control of her vehicle around noon and drove into a pond. It was off of U.S. 31 on Comiskey Pike, near the Jennings/Jackson county line.
Although the woman was able to call 911 and deputies responded within three minutes, rescue crews weren't able to get to her in time.
Her name wasn't immediately released.
