(TERRE HAUTE) - One woman and her unborn child have died due to injuries suffered in a serious accident. It happened in Terre Haute on U.S. Hwy 41 just after 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Michael Clouse of WTHI reports that 29-year-old Erin Shook had to be airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Shook died Saturday night because of the severity of her injuries. She was 35 weeks pregnant.
Doctors performed an emergency C-section in hopes of saving the baby; however, they were unable to save the unborn child.
Shook's two other children who were in the vehicle were transported to Regional Hospital after the accident. The driver of another vehicle involved, Cody Griffin, 22, was also transported to Regional Hospital.
Their conditions are not known at this time.
