(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Cultural Trail connecting downtown officially opened Friday after years of construction and millions of dollars invested.
The project created an eight-mile walking and bike path that connects all five of the city's cultural districts.
The project took 12 years of planning, six years of construction and 63-million dollars.
Artwork will also line the trail thanks to a 2-million dollar donation from Gene and Marilyn Glick.
A celebration along the trail begins Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight and will include 80 events and performances.
