Teen Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle

(WHITELAND) - A pedestrian was killed late Saturday afternoon in a crash in Johnson County.

The crash happened about 5:40 p.m. on Emerson Avenue, north of County Road 600 North in Whiteland, the Johnson County Sheriff's Department said.

Police said a car driven by Tabitha Walters, 33, of Whiteland, struck Tyler Deputy, 19, of New Whiteland as Deputy walked along Emerson.

Deputy was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by medical helicopter, but he later died.

Results of a blood draw of Walters are pending.
