(FORT WAYNE) - Crews found the body of a man in the St. Joe River near Shoaff Park on Sunday, according to Fort Wayne Police Department Public Information Officer Raquel Foster. No foul play is suspected.
Indiana Conservation Officers are heading up the investigation.
Crews were initially called to the scene for a water rescue around 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department, the Fort Wayne Police Department, EMS Services, Conservation Officers with the Department of Natural Resources and the Allen County Coroner could all be seen on the scene at Shoaff Park on Sunday.
On Thursday and Friday, the Fort Wayne Fire Department dive team searched a pond in Shoaff Park for a missing person after finding an unoccupied car at the park. The owner of the car had been reported missing by family members on Monday. Police have not said if this is connected to the body that was found on Sunday.
On Monday, a 52-year-old man died after being pulled from the St. Mary's River. The victim was initially revived by emergency crews but then died of asphyxia due to drowning.
