(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two city employees were arrested and three others are facing charges after the FBI raided the City-County Building Tuesday morning.
Dustin Grov, of WISH TV8 reports that federal agents were outside of the City-County Building Tuesday serving a search warrant to seize documents inside.
Agents arrived to the CCB just after 7 a.m.
In a news release announcing a Tuesday afternoon news conference, Hogsett said he, the FBI and Indiana State Police were announcing results of an effort to fight corruption and fraud by public officials.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett announced the arrest of two city employees and three others charged with wire fraud and bribery.
Reggie Walton, assistant administrator of the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development and John Hawkins, senior project manager, were arrested.
The heads of two Indianapolis-based non-profits and the head of a for-profit real estate group were charged.
Agents had search warrants for documents related to the Indianapolis Land Bank, which was created to acquire abandoned, tax delinquent and other problem properties to make them available for redevelopment to non-profit/for-profit developers and the general public, according to the city's website.
