(ELWOOD) - 24-Hour News 8 has confirmed that the Elwood School Board met Thursday evening and has fired girls basketball coach Thomas Kessinger.
29-year-old Kessinger had posted bond on Tuesday evening after turning himself in at the Madison County Jail.
He faces charges of child seduction and official misconduct, both Class D felonies. Kessinger is accused of having a relationship with one of his players.
Elwood Police Chief, Sam Hanna said the state hotline had received a tip and then officers began their investigation.
Interim Superintendent Thomas Austin says he placed Kessinger on suspension with pay on last Friday, which is the same day they received the news.
