(INDIANAPOLIS) - There are mixed reviews for the federal government’s new recommendation to lower the Blood Alcohol Limit for anyone behind the wheel.
The National Transportation Safety Board wants each state to lower the BAC limit from .08 to .05
The NTSB says that has saved lives in other countries.
One group against recommendation is the American Beverage Institute, which represents bars and restaurants.
They say restricting the moderate drinkers does not to stop hard-core drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.
Back In 1982, the NTSB recommended reducing the limit from .10 to .08. It wasn't until 2004 - that every state followed that recommendation.
