(LOGANSPORT) - A former Logansport police officer was sentenced in court Tuesday.
Carlos Leal, 33, plead guilty to two counts of theft and was sentenced to in-home detention. Leal previously admitted to using a police department gas card for his personal vehicle. Leal also lied about the number of hours he worked.
The Pharos-Tribune say if Leal successfully completes one year on in-home detention, he can petition the court to be placed on probation for the rest of his sentence.
Leal is also required to pay back the money he owes the department for the gas and hours he reported.
