(EVANSVILLE) - Evansville Police have arrested 24-year-old Quinton Jennings on several charges after he allegedly threatened a witness in a murder trial.
Brad Conaway of WFIE reports that police went to a home in the 1300 block of South Governor around 10:30 on Monday night.
A woman told officers that a man had knocked on the door and announced that he was with the "EPD".
The woman says she opened the door and the man came in and punched her in the face.
After a brief struggle, the man ended up on top of her with a knife pointed at her chest.
The woman told investigators that the man threatened her about testifying in the Cedric Watt homicide trial that started Tuesday.
The woman is a witness for the prosecution. Chris Bell is the defendant.
The woman told investigators that she had did not know her attacker, but thought he might have sent by another woman who knows Bell.
Jennings was identified by the woman and two neighbors who helped stop the attack.
Jennings was arrested and charged with burglary, impersonating a public servant, obstruction of justice and battery.
